The Independent and The Standard seek permission to appeal in Lachaux

DPSA continues to act for the Independent and the Evening Standard in a libel claim brought against them by Bruno Lachaux over articles published in their respective print and online editions. In a judgment handed down by Mr Justice Warby on 30 July, it was held that the publication of the articles had caused serious harm to Mr Lachaux’s reputation.

At a hearing on 21 October, the Independent and the Evening Standard were refused permission to appeal by Mr Justice Warby and have now sought permission from Court of Appeal. You can read the Grounds of Appeal here.
