Defamation cases against media groups halve in five years

David Price QC has recently been quoted in the Guardian in relation to his views on the decline in defamation cases being brought against media groups.

He commented that newspapers are under the microscope and that may have led them to be more cautious and more willing to negotiate a settlement”. In David’s opinion the new Defamation Act 2013 may lead to a re-balancing in favour of the media.
